I Don’t Remember the Last Thing I Forgot explores the relationship between the archive and artistic production, approaching the archive not merely as a place where documents are stored, but as a site where remembering, forgetting, and selective memory are produced.
Drawing on Troya İçinde Vurdular Beni (They Shot Me in Troy), a performance archived by the Theatre Research Laboratory (TAL) approximately thirty years ago, the project establishes a connection between the archive and the body. Revisiting TAL’s experimental theatre legacy through contemporary aesthetic and political perspectives, it reinterprets historical texts, movement practices, and spatial dramaturgy.
Rather than treating the archive as a fixed repository of records, the work approaches it as a creative ground for encounter, research, and re-creation. At its core lies the question: How is a legacy transmitted, transformed, and made visible?
In this choreographic research, shaped at the intersection of archive, memory, and body, the body becomes a narrator in response to the archive’s silence—making the invisible visible and allowing what has been forgotten to be heard once again.
